Northumberland Hills has many beautiful venues which helps attract a number of artists. These artist works can be seen to full advantage at the many Art Centres in the county. Arts Quinte West
Arising out of a need for stronger promotion of the arts in Quinte West, Arts Quinte West was formed in 2008. Starting from a few members committed to seeing the organization grow, we held numerous exhibitions of the work of local artists. We began offering memberships in 2010 and adopted our constitution in 2011. A volunteer Board of Directors organizes our own events based on suggestions from our membership and takes part in numerous community events during the year.
Brighton Arts Council
Brighton Art Council has a lively set of events seen on its website and facebook page.
Cobourg Art Club
The Cobourg Art Club is associated closely with Cobourg Library where they paints every Tuesday. In addition, the Club sponsors shows and exhibitions in area businesses and venues. The group explores abstracts, figures, florals, landscapesusing a variety of media.
The Colborne Society of Artists brings together a diverse group of creative people working independently in a variety of media. Their paintings, drawings, etchings, pottery and sculpture are on display year-round at the gallery in the historic village of Colborne. The gallery is open year round with extended hours from Spring to Fall.
Impresario Artisan Market
This eclectic Cobourg gallery shop features contemporary art and crafts by Canadians with emphasis work by artists lfrom Northumberland Hills. Impresario Artisan Market has hip and contemporary vibeoffering including fashion, ceramics, paintings, glass, woodwork, textile art, jewellery, children’s toys, and more. Impresario Artisan Market also hosts a variety of art workshops and special events.
Truly ‘old world’ Fine Art gallery stocked with rare antique maps, illuminated manuscripts, fine paintings and fascinating prints; many of museum standard. On display, and for purchase, are items that really are different, if your enjoyment be history, architecture, botany, birds, naval and military engravings, or fascinating David Roberts views. Appraisal, Conservation and Framing services are also offered.

Northumberland Photography Club
This a photo club with over 100 members, some professional photographers and others who are just starting out or in between. We hold monthly meetings on the first Monday of the month. There are also group outings a couple of times each month. Major exhibitions are planned for February at Impresario Artisans market Place in Port Hope and March & April at The Capitol Theatre.
The Pine Ridge Art Association meets every Monday at the Oddfellows Hall, Victoria Street, Cobourg. The program runs from January to June and September to December except for holidays with an Annual Art Show held every November at the Cobourg Public Library.
Quinte Arts Council
The Quinte Arts Council is an umbrella organization dedicated to promoting the arts in all disciplines and to further and culture in the Quinte region.The Council provides education and tutorials for artists and students while promoting art exhibitions and events.
Spirit of the Hills is made up of artists and people interested in supporting the arts in Northumberland County. We embrace all art forms and traditions, including the performing and visual arts, media, design, and literature.
The gallery’s feature Zimbabwean, hand carved, Shona stone sculpture. The curator, Fran Fearnley, travels to Zimbabwe annually to select the work. Open year round by appointment, the gallery also hosts several annual outdoor exhibitions, including the Rice Lake Series.
